How to Teach Babies & Toddlers Arabic⁣⁣

Babies and toddlers are precious beings that are so new to life. They learn new things each and every day as their tiny bodies grow and develop. The key to teaching your little one Arabic is to replicate how you learned your native language. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

– Speak to them as much as you can⁣⁣

– Read to them endless Arabic stories⁣⁣ and alphabet books

– Sing your heart out to them because children love rhyme, rhythm and repetition ⁣⁣

– Create an Arabic print rich environment

⁣⁣

Also, here are some additional things you could do to make more of an Arabic impact:⁣⁣

– Attend Arabic playgroups⁣⁣

– Translate common games you often play with them⁣⁣

– Use beautifully crafted wooden products for them to play with and naturally learn their letters⁣⁣

– Have Arabic snack time weekly with their favourite healthy treats and an engaging Arabic book

⁣⁣

The focus is on having babies and toddlers HEAR the language as much as possible. They may not be able to communicate with words effectively yet, but they are listening, ever so attentively.

I do not recommend babies or toddlers watching screens to learn a new language. The use of technology can come much later in their lives. Spend more time boding with them, using physical touch – such as having them sit in your lap as they hear you tell them an Arabic story.

It’s important to be intentional about creating a positive association with the Arabic language in your child’s mind by having a calming space, a gentle tone, and meaningful things for them to remember.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

These simple things will naturally help your child learn Arabic.
